Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026 · Applies to KinetFlashFind for Mac (and later versions)

In one sentence

KinetFlashFind collects, uploads and shares none of your data. The app has no networking capability — everything, including the search index, lives only on your own Mac.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Specifically:

No name, email, contact details or any identity information
No file names, file contents, usage history or search history
No analytics, telemetry or ad-tracking code of any kind
No networking code: the app has no network entitlement and cannot send data anywhere

2. Where your data is stored

The only data the app creates is the search index (a database of file names, paths, sizes and modification dates), stored inside the app's sandbox container on your Mac:

~/Library/Containers/com.kinet.everythingformac/Data/

It never leaves your device. When you uninstall or delete the app in System Settings, the sandbox container and the index inside it are removed as well.

3. About Full Disk Access

macOS protects folders such as Documents, Downloads and Desktop at the system level. To index those locations, the app asks you to grant Full Disk Access manually:

The permission is entirely optional: without it, the app still works — you can manually add the folders you want indexed
Once granted, the app reads file names and metadata (path, size, modification date) only, to build the local index. It never reads or records file contents
You can revoke it anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access

4. Folders you add

Folders you add manually (without Full Disk Access) are remembered via security-scoped bookmarks stored in the app's local preferences, solely to keep track of your indexing scope. They never leave the device either.

5. Third-party services

None. The app uses no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or cloud SDKs. Distribution goes through Apple's Mac App Store; downloads and purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at any particular age group — and since it collects no data at all, it cannot collect children's data either.

7. Changes to this policy

If a future version ever changes any data practice, we will update this page and the effective date, and highlight the change prominently inside the app.
