FAQ
Why can’t I find files in some folders?
macOS privacy protection restricts folders like Documents, Downloads and Desktop. Click “Grant Access” in the app, allow Full Disk Access, then click “Re-check” to index every file. Or skip the permission: click “Add Folder” and pick locations manually.
Does indexing drain the battery?
The first full-disk index is a one-time cost. Afterwards, incremental updates only touch changed files, so day-to-day overhead is minimal. A 256MB write cap protects the index store — it will never slow your system down.
Will my file list be uploaded?
Never. The app contains no networking or analytics code; the index exists only inside your Mac’s sandbox container. See the Privacy Policy for details.
